Further Proof all Texans are Racist Idiots

If you live in Pittsburgh, I’m sure you’ve heard about the hefty McCain campain worker who claimed she was robbed in Bloomfield at an ATM machine.

She claimed that once her attacker saw the McCain/Palin bumper sticker he was overcome with rage, roughed her up and carved a B in her face.

She described her attacker as…GUESS WHAT?  a big black guy.  Of course, today this douche admits she made the whole thing up.

Did she really think that people would believe that this guy, after robbing her, would be so stupid as to stick around to make a political point?  Are you serious?  Was this a ploy to try to get white America all freaked out about black people rising up against the white as snow G.O.P?

This is one of those times when I really wish there was karma or a god to set things straight.  She should have that B as a scar on her face for the rest of her life.  So every time she looks in the mirror she is reminded of what a stupid cunt she is.

Pittsburgh has enough crime, Ms. Todd.  We really don’t need dumbfucks like you making crimes up.  Oh, and next time try to steer clear of the “big black guy” attacker description.  If you are making it up, at least get creative.  I would have said a person in a clownsuit saw my McCain bumper sticker, and after forcing me into his tiny car proceeded to carve a B in my face.  For BODACIOUS.  It really had nothing to do with the sticker, you see…he just thought I was the perfect mix of bold and audacious.  It was actually quite sweet.  He then explained to me in his tiny car why he felt that Obama’s tax plan would better serve the American middle class.

That’s a story I’d believe.

Luke Ravenstahl: Business Caretaker

I was reading an article from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the most recent terrifying violence in our great city and stumbled upon the fact that Lukie takes pride in Taking Care of Business.

Lukie and his all-star administration apparently take “Taking Care of Business tours” through Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods.  These are “walk-throughs that usually end with a promise of a few street trees here, a decorative lamp there, and maybe some new trash cans.”

After reading about Luke’s ability to Take Care of Business I first was angry because if he and his posse took a walk down my street on the South Side he would instantly take care of the business that is the 2 foot pot hole in the middle of my road.  Sadly, the last time I saw anyone Take Care of Business near my house was when a drunk guy took care of his bathroom business in my alley.

Now, though, I’m no longer angry at Lukie for Taking Care of Business.  I now smile randomly throughout the day when I imagine Luke and his posse of pear-shaped business caretakers walking down the street to the song by Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

The song actually fits him quite nicely:

And if your train’s on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I’m self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day

And I’ll be…
Taking care of business every day
Taking care of business every way
I’ve been taking care of business, it’s all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime

Work it out, Luke!

Magnet School Program Needs Fixin’ … Duh!

An article and today’s Post Gazette states that we spent $221,000 on a consultant to tell us that the Magnet program is outdated and needs improvement.

“There are gaps in magnet programming in the areas of health care, bio-technology, financial services, engineering, technology, computer science and critical languages,” Metis Associates said in its report.

The firm, which the school board retained in March at a cost of up to $221,000, also cited disturbing variations in magnet quality and principals’ commitment to the programs.

Wow, I could have saved the city $221,000, because I think just about anyone could have told them what that report said. Things like this show us why Government is so inefficient. Instead of someone just taking the initiative and fixing what’s broke. They rather spend $221,000 on a consultant to do what they are too afraid of do, make a decision.

Superintendent Mark Roosevelt cited the need to overhaul magnet programs as long ago as March 2006. In an interview last week, he said many had lost their “academic edge.”

Well Mark if you know the program needed and overhaul, then why did you pay for a consultant?

Oh, you needed them to give you ideas and a plan of action. Well you’re the Super right? I thought that was your job, to run and maintain the schools?

Instead of wasting money and time on consultants, how about you just do your job. It’s not that hard to plan a meeting with your staff and coordinate with them. It’s not that hard to us the “kaizen method” and figure out where things need charge.

Oh, that’s to hard for you to do, and you need help. Well that is your job, so you just need to figure it out. If companies paid for a consultant ever time they need to overhaul their product line nothing would ever get done. Just stop and look at what your customer needs, fill that need in the most efficient and economical way possible and everyone is happy. It’s that simply, so do you job Mark.

The Fireworks just looked expensive

When I saw the show I was like how much money did we just waste on this? I am happy to report that a lot of it was donated.

While organizers expect to spend about $400,000 on the “Birthday Blowout,” the total cost of the event is closer to $1 million. Flanagan said the difference between the two numbers represents the value of donated equipment, materials and services. – PG

Sometimes the GOB does things right.

Pittsburgh has a new Blog

I have been living in Pittsburgh for most of my life. Out of all the other places I have lived and visited, Pittsburgh is the only place that feels like home. My only complaint is its Politics.

Pittsburgh as be run by the same group of people for years, I call them the “Good old Boys” (GOB). If you are a member of this club, then you most likely have a nice government job where you site on a committee and get nothing done. Right now the CEO of this club is Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, he thinks ethics are just something you talk about in Philosophy classes. My hate for the GOB is the reason I started this blog.

I want to expose Pittsburgh Politics for what they really are. These people use us to make themselves and their friends richer and more powerful. They also have no understanding the real purpose of government or how to solve problems. I will be going in to more detail about all of this in other posts.

I hope you enjoy this blog… I will try to make my preachiness fun and entertaining ;)
